
The Ninth International Wildlife Law Conference will be held in the Great Hall and Classroom A, Stetson University College of Law, 1401 61st St. S., Gulfport, January 26 - 27. Speakers from six different countries include:
Janet Reno, former U.S. attorney general
Robert Johnson, director of the South Florida Natural Resources Center, Everglades National Park
Diwakar Chapagain, wildlife trade officer, World Wildlife Federation, Nepal
Sue Arnold, Australians for Animals
David Pritchard, international treaties advisor, Birdlife International
Carroll Muffett, deputy campaigns director, Greenpeace USA
Expert speakers will address the impact of the law on our global ecology. Presentations will address: everglades restoration, controlling contaminants that affect marine mammals, managing fisheries, Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi Marshlands, ocean governance and protecting the coral reefs, commercial tourism in Antarctica, and climate change impact on endangered species.

Conference participants are also encouraged to attend a tour of Big Cat Rescue in Tampa on Jan. 25, at 2 p.m., and to join members of Stetson's student Environmental Law Society to canoe or kayak on the Hillsborough River Jan. 28.
