
CLEARWATER - Staff Sergeant Leigh Ann Hinton will join the Clearwater Christian College concert choir and orchestra for a concert entitled For Love of Country: Patriotic Salute to the USA on Tuesday, February 13, at 7 p.m.
Staff Sergeant Hinton is the vocal soloist with the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own," based in Washington, D.C. She has recently performed at venues such as Avery Fisher Hall in New York City's Lincoln Center, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and the United States Capitol Rotunda for the National Commemoration of the Days of Remembrance presented by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
She earned her Master's Degree in Vocal performance from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where she worked with notable teachers and performers such as Elly Ameling, Carol Weber, Dr. David Parks, and members of the Bach Aria Group. When not performing with the U.S. Army Band, Staff Sergeant Hinton has been a soloist at many venues in the Washington, D.C. area including the National Cathedral, performances with the Capitol Hill Chorale, and solo and ensemble recitals at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.
Prior to joining the U.S. Army Band, "Pershing's Own," Staff Sergeant Hinton was a member of the United States Navy Band Sea Changers Chorus.
The Clearwater Christian College choir and orchestra are under the direction of Dr. Pattye Casarow and Dr. Richard Nichols.
