The Parent Aide Program at Help A Child, Inc. has several parents who would really benefit from a mentor and role model for better parenting.
By simply sharing your life skills with a parent, you will be providing the friendship and the emotional support they need as they face the many unique and often unexpected changes and challenges raising children.
Mentors will be trained to help a parent understand what their children can reasonably do for their age. Mentors will be providing information on discipline techniques, the value of being consistent, how to reduce and successfully respond to stress, the importance of good nutrition, how to prepare a budget, how to access community resources and much more.
Volunteer mentors receive the added bonus of knowing they make a difference in the life of a family.
