To Meet, To Know, To Growthe motto of the Greater Belleair Young Womens Society took on new meaning Thursday evening when the organization celebrated over 28 years of friendship and community service. This years annual dinner was held at Pepper Mill Restaurant in Clearwater to honor past presidents of the society, present them each with a rose, and reminisce about how much the club has changed while remaining much the same. Current club president, Cheri DeCollibus of Belleair Beach, greeted and welcomed 12 of the last 27 presidents in attendance along with other society members and guests. Teresa Durling, of Belleair, coordinated the event with a beautiful and festive purple, green, and gold Mardi Gras theme.

It was twenty-eight years ago when a handful of local young mothers decided they needed a club of their own and thus was born the Greater Belleair Young Womens Society, or GBYWS. Now 140 members strong, the club has held true to its motto To Grow.

An upcoming cruise to Cozumel is planned for the end of February. The clubs spring fundraising event will be a Texas Holdem in March; with all proceeds to benefit the upcoming American Cancer Societys Relay For Life Greater Belleair 2007 that will be held at the Belleair Town East Soccer Field on April 20-21.
