Tax Collector Employees Promote 'Stop Heart Disease' License Plate

COURTHOUSE, CLEARWATER - Pinellas County Tax Collector employees will join in the Florida Heart Research Foundation's statewide promotion in February to raise awareness of heart disease issues and recommend purchasing the Stop Heart Disease specialty license plate.

Pinellas motorists were recognized by the Florida Heart Research Foundation for being in the top four in Florida sales of the Stop Heart Disease specialty license plate for the second year in a row in 2006. www.heartplate.org.

"Tax Collector employees have a long history of helping to educate the public and raising funds for these charities," says Pinellas Tax Collector Diane Nelson.

One hundred percent (100%) of the funds raised from the Stop Heart disease license plate are legislatively mandated to support heart disease research, education and prevention programs throughout Florida. Twenty-five dollars from registration fees of every plate sold and renewed will go to the Florida Heart Research Foundation where it will be used.

Tax Collector employees promoted the Challenger-Columbia specialty license plate in January, and will continue to hand out commemorative space exploration posters for sale of these specialty license plates while supplies last. v For more information about this or other Tax Collector service, please visit award-winning Web site at www.taxcollect.com or call at 727-562-3262.
