The renewal of the Penny for Pinellas and several municipal elections will be on the ballot for the next election on March 13. Newcomers from other states and others who haven't registered to vote before have about a month to register so they can have their say at the polls. (New residents from other Florida counties may register an address change with the statewide voter registration system.)
Monday, February 12 is the voter registration deadline for anyone voting in the March 13 Pinellas County Referendum and Municipal Elections. To help register as many people as possible before that deadline, Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark is scheduling numerous voter registration events throughout the county during the week of February 4. Registration is always available during regular business hours at any public library or driver license office, or at any government office handling social services or disabilities. The Supervisor of Elections staff will also attend major Pinellas events to register new voters. Look for them at events such as the Pinellas Folk Fair and Tampa Bay Home Expo in January and the Florida African American Heritage Celebration in February.
Any business wishing to schedule a voter registration event may contact the Supervisor of Elections Voter Education Department at (727) 464-5700. There is no charge for this community service.
Citizens who are already registered to vote are encouraged to update any name, address, party or signature changes prior to election day. Address changes within the county may be made by telephone. Other updates may be made by completing and signing a Voter Registration Application with the changes noted. Updates may also be made at any voter registration event.
