Leslie Glover leads her shih tzu, Button, across the stage for judging in the costume contest at the Mardi Party for Pups Festival at Pioneer Park in Dunedin Saturday morning. Button didn't seem to mind wearing her "medieval princess" attire. Einstein, a French bulldog owned by Leea Whalin, made his appearance soon after Button. Einstein sported a pirate costume and a stuffed red parrot attached to his back. Dogs of all sizes and varieties filled the park and took part in the Mardi Gras parade which followed. Members of the Krewe of Aberdeen and the Krewe of Orange decorated mini floats which carried some of their pets.
