Select Tampa Bay area Wal-Mart stores are hosting blood drives in March. Florida Blood Services (FBS) bloodmobiles will be on site from noon until 6 p.m. at these Wal-Mart locations.

All lifesaving donors will receive a 207 Renaissance Bloodletting T-shirt, a free admission ticket to the 2007 Bay Renaissance Festival at MOSI, a Chick-fil-A coupon for a free Chicken Sandwich and a free Chick-n-Minis, and a wellness checkup, including a cholesterol screening, plus the chance to save lives.
Generally, healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can be blood donors. Identification is required prior to donation. For further information, call 1-800-68-BLOOD (25663).
For those unable to donate blood, contributions may be mailed to Florida Blood Services Foundation, 10100 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33716, or submitted on-line at www.bloodrelief.org.
Florida Blood Services provides for the blood needs of patients at 38 hospitals in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and Pinellas Counties, through the generosity of volunteer blood donors. Over 750 donations are required daily, due to the high quality of medical care in Tampa Bay that serves the most critically ill patients throughout west central Florida.
