CLEARWATER - Chapel-By-The Sea's "Non-Trivial Pursuits" winter/spring adult education series will conclude on Monday, March 26, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m., with "Foundations of Faith: Understanding True Islam and Our Muslim Neighbors." Established in 1994 to promote an accurate image of Islam and Muslims in America, The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CSIR) is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and has 33 regional office and chapters nationwide. Ahmed Bedier, Executive Director of the council's central Florida office, works to foster understanding among different religions by participating in local and national interfaith groups and having dialogue with many faith groups in the community.
Bedier strives to build bridges of understanding and will share with us the foundations of Islam, clarify common misconceptions about our Muslim neighbors, and answer your questions about their faith traditions. If you have questions about the Koran, Ramadan, prayer rituals, the role of women, Allah/God, Arab connections, differences within Islam, relations with other faiths, etc., dialogue is the best road to understanding.
Chapel-By-The-Sea Community Church is located at 54 Bay Esplanade on Clearwater Beach. There is no charge for the program. Please call 446-0430 to make reservations or for further information.
