Students Achieve Honors With DAR

DUNEDIN - Forty-three students sponsored by the Caladesi Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Dunedin, received Chapter awards. Ten won at the state level in the Junior American Citizens contest. In celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, Virginia, the topic was "Jamestown Settlement". First Place State Awards went to the following students:

From Highland Christian Academy, Clearwater: Skylar Bronson, 6th grade, for a short story; Devan Sieber, 3rd grade, for a poem; and Principal of Highland Christian Academy and teacher, Mrs. Sandra Herrington, representing the first grade and kindergarten, for a class banner.

From Dunedin Academy: Erica Smith, 12th grade, for her poem; Alexandria Baird, Ashley Bellinger, Ashley Donelow, Christa Smith and Ashleigh Wyatt, 11th grade, for a banner; Kris Madias, 9th grade, for a poster.
