Nagano Students Visit Clearwater for Sister City Exchange

CLEARWATER. - The City of Clearwater is hosting a contingent of visitors from the city of Nagano, Japan, this week. Eleven high school students, their teacher chaperones and tour guide will visit area schools and tour sites of interest in the Clearwater area.

Clearwater has enjoyed a long-standing relationship of 47 years with its Sister City of Nagano. Annual exchanges of students and teachers contribute to ongoing cultural enrichment for both cities. While here, students learn about our educational system and customs by observing classes at Kennedy Middle School and staying with 'homestay' families. As part of their American experience, they spend a day at Disney World. They also have an opportunity to meet with Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard.
