INDIAN ROCKS BEACH - A joint effort by government entities and business this year allowed some needy families to enjoy a little uplifting at Easter.
The Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach, the Pinellas Suncoast Fire and Rescue District and Publix worked together to help people.
The sheriff's Community Policing Unit worked with Father Bob Wagenseil's Community Food Pantry and Outreach Ministry and the fire district to distribute food that was provided by the Publix store at Indian Rocks Beach Road and Walsingham in Largo.
Meals were picked up at the store and delivered, door to door, to families in the Baskins, French Villas and Highpoint areas.
The deliveries were made last Thursday.
This was the fourth year that the program has been carried out.
