Hire Me! Teen Job Skills Program at Your Library

The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative is again presenting a Teen Job Skills program, Hire Me! Teen Secrets for Getting the Job. Libraries will host programs for teens in April and May 2007 at at the following libraries: April 14 at 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Dunedin Library (223 Douglas Avenue); April 15 at 1 - 4 p.m. at Seminole Library (9200 113th Street N); April 21 at 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Pinellas Park Library (7770 52nd Street); April 23 at 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the St Petersburg Johnson Library (1059 18th Ave S); and May 5 at 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Palm Harbor Library (2330 Nebraska Avenue). Participants will need to register for programs with the participating library.

Each library will host a program that will include information on interviewing skills, resume building, making a good impression with an employer and communicating value as teens seek employment.

All programs will include incentives, giveaways, and activities to strengthen the skills for getting a job. Participants will also receive FREE meals during the three-hour long sessions. Through this program, teens will have an opportunity to participate in future workshops that will assist in job placement for the summer.
