Regarding the "New Council Members Question Special Events Budget", I have to wonder: Rather than eliminating an event to maintain the current budget, did it ever occur to them to stop making special events at Coachman Park a VIP party for current and former City employees and friends with food, special portolets, and especially an open bar? For that matter, has it not occurred to them that the open bar presents a potential liability to the City should anyone get drunk (and it does happen) and have an accident on the way home?
