CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Rotary Club presents the 15th Annual Kingfish Tournament to support local charities. The event, sanctioned by The Southern Kingfish Association takes place Saturday, April 15.
The tournament was created as a fundraiser to support the Rotary Club's initiatives to positively impact the lives of those in the Clearwater area. This year's charities include:

- Children's Dream Fund
- Clearwater for Youth
- Clearwater Free Clinic
- Clearwater Marine Aquarium
- Clearwater Homeless Intervention Project
- Clothes To Kids
- Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches
- Good Acts - City of Clearwater
- Good Life Games
- Homeless Emergency Project
- Isaiah's Inn
- Ronald McDonald House
- YMCA Splash Program
- Student of the Month - Kings Highway and North Ward Elementary schools' program of the Rotary Club.
This year's event features the Friday, April 13th Captain's Meeting/Party in Coachman Park with a silent auction, a free live rock'n blues concert, and a boat and Corvette display. The Saturday Tournament and Weigh-in Party, April 14th, also features free live music and fun in Coachman Park.
Both events are open to the public. Friday's entertainment is free, $20 for food from area restaurants. Boats must be registered by Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. to be eligible for the tournment. Entry fee is $350 per boat (six anglers maximum), when registering at Friday's event.
