The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative is partnering with the Pinellas County Communications Department to bring Becoming Storm Savvy, a one-hour workshop on preparing for the upcoming hurricane season. Presenter Tom Iovino, Pinellas County Communications Specialist and host of the hurricane awareness show Shuttering Your Homes on Pinellas 18, will be presenting throughout April and May at local public libraries. Important topics will be covered during the session including:
- Planning or Panic: It's your choice
- It's not only hurricanes (chemical spills, tornadoes, flooding, etc)
- Should I stay or should I go?
- Home sweet fortified home
- Build your survival kit without breaking the bank
- Who you gonna call when things get wild?
- Staying in the know
- Questions and answers
Programs scheduled for the month of April include: April 14 at 11 a.m. at the East Lake Library (4125 East Lake Road); April 17 at 7 p.m. at Largo Library (120 Central Park Dr); April 23 at 7 p.m. at the St Petersburg Main Library (3745 Ninth Ave N); April 25 at 2 p.m. at the Gulf Beaches Library (200 Municipal Dr); and April 28 at 10 a.m at the Pinellas Park Library (7770 52nd St).
