CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Beach patrol will host its 6th annual Ocean Mile Swim Series north of Pier 60, May 26, June 23 and July 14. Swimmers of all ages compete for awards in various age categories as well as for the top overall male and female competitor. Registration begins at 6 a.m., and the race starts at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees are as follows and funds will support the Junior Lifeguard Program and Lifeguard Competition Team:
Series 1: before May 1, $20, after May 1, $25
Series 2: before June 1, $20, after June 1, $25
Series 3: before July 1, $20, after July 1, $25
Race day registration, $30

Clearwater Beach has lifeguards on duty 365 days a year. Lifeguards provide medical assistance, emergency aquatic response, and help with code enforcement on the municipal beach.
