BELLEAIR BEACH - Four city residents have applied for the City Council seat left open with the resignation of Jeff Coulson April 4.
Among the four, one, Mitchell Krach, has previous experience in city government. He was chairman of the Code Enforcement Board for some time.
The others are Jennifer Burns, Lee Cieslak and Bruce Cohen, all newcomers to public affairs in Belleair Beach.
One of the four will be selected to fill Coulson's seat at the May 7 council meeting.
Coulson, who said demands of his job as a private pilot curtailed his ability to continue to serve, was the second highest vote getter in the March, 2006, election. He was in his second term.
Whoever is chosen will serve out Coulson's term which would have ended March 8, 2008. At that time the seat will come open, although the person chosen May 7 can seek re-election.
