Earlier this week, Westra Construction paved the westbound side of Gulfview Boulevard from Hamden Drive to the Hess Station. Now they are doing utility and roadway work on the eastbound side. Westra is also installing storm pipes at the intersection of Hamden Drive and Fifth Street and that intersection is closed. Access to Bayside Drive and the section of Hamden Drive between Coronado Drive and Fifth Street is available from the Coronado/Hamden intersection.
Nelson Construction continues demolition, storm, and utility construction in the Pier 60 parking lot. The Pier 60 parking lot and the north end of the Gulfview parking lot-from the Aqualea going north-are closed.
City workers will begin work to install a temporary traffic signal at the Pier 60 parking lot next week. This work should be done by May 11. The light will be a cautionary flashing light until the end of May, when the Pier 60 parking lot reopens at which time it will become a fully operational signal.
The next Hard Hat Meeting is 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, at the Clearwater Beach Gulfview Resort, 521 South Gulfview Boulevard.
The targeted completion date for the Beach Walk project is before Super Bowl 2009. Visit www.myclearwater.com/beachwalk for more information.
