The Tampa Bay Orchid Society will be holding its annual Orchid Show and Sale April 27-29, for the second year, at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive in Tampa. Last year's show was a tremendous success with over 2000 in attendance. The beautiful Philippine Cultural Center is the perfect setting for the artistic and educational exhibits.
Accredited judging will be by American Orchid Society judges on Friday night. The awarded trophies and ribbons will be on display Saturday and Sunday.
This is the largest indoor plant show in Hillsborough County. There will be12 orchid vendors offering an array of gorgeous orchids suitable for growing in Florida's climate. A holding area for purchases will be available to make shopping easier.
All types of orchid supplies, many not available at local stores will be on sale. New this year will be beautiful orchid art. How-to books and magazines will also be for sale. Orchid potting and repotting will be offered.
Three workshops will be presented daily by orchid experts. The free educational seminars will cover all topics related to successfully growing orchids.
Admission is $5 for 1 day and $8 for multiple days and includes a ticket for hourly drawings of door prizes. Admission is free with joining the Tampa Bay Orchid Society. Parking is free. A food vendor will be on site.
Dates and times: Friday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m; and Sunday, April 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
