DUNEDIN - The Caladesi Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently honored Lieutenant Junior Grade Jennifer Battistella with the 2007 ROTC award. LJG Battistella won a DAR medal, $100 bond and certificate for outstanding performance in NROTC duties. academics, and community service. The award stands for patriotism, national security, and citizenship. The ROTC Bronze Medal was established by NSDAR in 1926 and has been given by the Caladesi Chapter since 1975. This award is given to a graduating student in the ROTC program at Dunedin High School for qualities of dependability, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership ability, and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of ROTC.
LJG Battistella is a 2007 graduating senior at Dunedin High School. She is the Operations Officer of the USROTC unit at DHS, ROTC academic team commander and a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and past Key Club member. She plans to attend St. Petersburg College for two years then to University of South Florida to study computers.
