Congratulations to Adam Burrell of Belleair Beach, a 5th grade cadet in Admiral Farragut Academy's (AFA) Lower Division. Burrell's poster promoting water conservation, "Every Drop Counts", was selected by AFA as a school winner to be entered into a city wide competition in St. Petersburg for his grade category.
To observe National Drinking Water Week May 7-13, the city of St. Petersburg Water Resources Department sponsored a local competition of the Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest. All elementary children within the city were invited to compete. Seventeen public and private elementary schools participated and narrowed their entries down to one winner from three grade level categories during the school competitions.
The St. Petersburg Water Resources and members of the Drop Savers committee hosted an awards ceremony at St. Petersburg's Coliseum Wednesday, April 17, to present school winners with certificates and prizes.
