The 5th Annual Deaf Literacy Center Open House will be held Sunday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at the Palm Harbor Public Library (2330 Nebraska Ave). This fun-filled afternoon will include storytelling, music and more. The program highlight will be the guest speaker, Lissette Molina, CSDVRS Sales Manager. She will introduce innovative tele-communication devices for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She will also discuss how pagers, text cell phones, and videophone technology have made it possible for deaf individuals to have equal access to information, improve their literacy skills and communicate with confidence.
The event recognizes our Deaf communities through sign language, storytelling and song. This program is free and open to the public. The Deaf Literacy Center is a service of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative.
