The Clearwater Historical Society has announced that its annual Spring Fish Fry will be held Sat., May 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ross Norton Park Recreation Center, 1426 S. Martin Luther King Avenue in Clearwater. The Society ia a 501-c non-profit organization and adults will be admitted for a $8 donation and children, 12 and under, for a $4 donation, which gets you all you can eat of the best fried fish and tastiest hush puppies in town, along with plenty of delicious grits, cole slaw, ice tea or coffee, and free parking.
All net proceeds will go to the maintenance and upkeep of the Historic Plumb House Museum. Jennie Reynolds Plumb was the first paid school teacher in Clearwater for whom the Plumb Elementary School was named.
The Museum is located immediately to the north of the Ross Norton Center, so after you have had your fill of super-good food at the fish fry, go next door to the Historic Plumb House, 1380 S. Martin Luther King Avenue, for your free admission to see many historical documents, early Clearwater photographic collections, period furniture, etc.
