CLEARWATER BEACH - Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium have teamed up to promote awareness and raise funds to help save the sea turtle.
During the months of April through October, sea turtles migrate to Florida beaches for mating and nesting purposes. One of the goals of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is to help protect the turtles that come to the Gulf beaches.
Cooters Restaurant (whose names originates from a Southern slang term for turtle) is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 32" flat screen TV, with proceed profits being donated to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Three TVs will be raffled. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10, and can be purchased at both Cooters and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium between now and May 20th.
The drawings for the TVs will be held at Cooters on May 18th, 19th and 20th during Cooters 14th anniversary weekend party. One TV will be raffled each day.
Local residents and tourists alike are invited to participate in the event. Winners need not be present to win.
