Pregnancy Center of Pinellas Hosts Largest Walk of its Kind in the Nation

The Pregnancy Center of Pinellas County is announces that 110 Pinellas County churches are participating in the annual Walk For Life on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday May 12. "We are very pleased at the number of churches organizing teams and raising awareness to celebrate life," said Sol Pitchon, CEO of the Pregnancy Center of Pinellas County. "We offer compassionate healthcare services which give people a unique combination of the best care the area has to offer in addition to a Christian mission. We encourage the entire community to come out and Walk For Life."

The Walk For Life is a two mile walk that occurs concurrently at three convenient locations: Indian Rocks Baptist Church on Ulmerton Road in Largo: Countryside Christian Center on McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater; and new this year the Walk on Water at the Friendship Trail Bridge (Old Gandy Bridge) where walkers bridge the bay and meet up in the middle of the bridge with a Pregnancy Center team from Tampa. Sign-in and registration is at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. at all three locations.

Last year more than 2,000 walkers participated in this fun, family event. In addition to the walk, there will be complimentary food and drink, clowns to entertain the children, a bounce house, and face painting.

The Walk For Life is the Pregnancy Center's main fundraiser and is also the largest walk of its kind in the nation. Last year's event raised a record $420,000 and enabled the Pregnancy Center to provide assistance and free health care services for 1800 women.
