Artists Are Invited to F.L.A.I.R.

LARGO - Art and media creators are encouraged to submit individual works to be exhibited in Largo FLAIR, a new arts series designed to celebrate and uplift the imaginations, talents, skills, inventions, and creatively fostered right in our own neighborhoods.

The title is an acronym as it Features Local Artistic and Innovation Renderings. Specifically, the Largo Recreation Parks & Arts Department is seeking pieces that fall into the following categories: paintings, sculptures, photography, digital imagery, short movies, videos, and animation, music compositions (all types including classical and pop), poetry, short fiction, staged monologues, scenes and short plays. Even if your piece doesn't fit one of these generalized categories, submit it anyway. It may be just the item needed to round out that night's display.

The event will be held 6-9 p.m. at Ulmer Park, on the south side of West Bay Drive in Downtown Largo. There are three Saturday dates to be filled: June 23, July 28, and August 25. Submissions must be received by the first of the month to be considered for the showing of that month. Application and Guidelines/Policies are linked at www.largo.com or call 587-6740 ext. 5017.
