The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative is pleased to announce its newly appointed Board Member, Irving DeToro. DeToro, a resident of Palm Harbor, serves as the Board of County Commissioners At-Large District 1 representative. Currently, he is a vice chairman of the East Lake Community Library Advisory Board, and vice president of the Lansbrook Master Association Board.
In his professional career, he served in senior management positions for the Xerox Corporation. In 1983, DeToro participated with other industry representatives in the White House Conference on Productivity. He was also selected by the White House to serve on the Private Sector Initiatives Panel and he participated in preparing a National Medal for Productivity recommendation for the White House. He has also authored several articles and books on improving organizational performance. He brings his years of business management experience and leadership skills to the Board. The Cooperative Board and libraries welcome him to his new position.
