Volunteers Needed to "Give a Day for the Bay" in Largo

The Tampa Bay Estuary Program is recruiting community volunteers to remove invasive plants and plant native wetland plants along the shoreline of pond at Ridgecrest Park in Largo on Saturday, June 2, from 8:30 a.m. - noon.

All volunteers will receive a free lunch and t-shirt and the satisfaction of knowing they have helped restore a part of the Tampa Bay watershed. Volunteers are asked to bring leather or garden gloves, a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and bug spray, and wear closed-toed shoes. Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants are also recommended. Children over 12 years old are welcome when accompanied by a parent.
