Fine Art Society Installs Officers/Presents Check to Gulf Coast Museum

(l-r) Michelle Turman and Judy McSwine

The Fine Art Society installed the new officers for the fiscal year 2007-2008 at its annual Spring Luncheon, May 17, at Carlouel Yacht Club. Past president Lois O'Donnell installed Judy McSwine as president of the society; Sherrie Martin, 1st vice president; Gloria Hollingsworth, 2nd vice president; Pat Brant, recording secretary; Gretchen Vanderhof, corresponding secretary; Anne Lauder, treasurer; and Lynn Lawton, Ass't. treasurer.

Following the ceremony, president Judy McSwine presented Michelle Turman, director of the Gulf Coast Museum of Art, with a check representing the proceeds of the fundraising events of the year 2006-2007 - "Art in Style" Fashion Show and Film Fare. This check was in addition to the $10,000 given earlier in the year to match funds from the National Endowment of the Arts for the underwriting of the Marlene Rose Exhibit, a body of glass works by a female artist now showing at the Museum.
