FRISCO, TEXAS (May 23, 2007) – By winning the recent US Youth Soccer Florida Championship, the Girls Under-19 Countryside have qualified to compete in the US Youth Soccer Region III (South Regional) Championships.
The Countryside will be among the more than 184 top boys and girls US Youth Soccer teams from the 12 state associations competing for the US Youth Soccer Region III Championship title, June 28–July 4, at the South Lakes Soccer Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla. The US Youth Soccer Region III Championships, which will feature top teams in the Under-14 through Under-19 age groups, begins on Thursday, June 28 with opening ceremonies. Preliminary games will be played Friday, June 29 through Monday, July 2. Semifinal matches will be played on Tuesday, July 3, with the US Youth Soccer Region III Champions being crowned following final games on Wednesday, July 4.
US Youth Soccer State Cup champions and select runners-up from 12 state associations, including host Oklahoma Youth Soccer Association will participate. The other state associations represented are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, North Texas, South Texas, and Tennessee.
Regional winners of the Under-14 through Under-19 brackets earn a berth to the 2007 US Youth Soccer National Championships to be played July 24-29, in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, at Pizza Hut Park.
