CLEARWATER - Clearwater Municipal Marina welcomed its newest commercial tenant last Thursday with a christening ceremony. Teresa Hibbard, wife of Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, did the honors of smashing a champagne bottle on StarShip II's bow.

Yacht StarShip II, formerly Excalibur, was a popular fine dining yacht in New York City where it was docked at the World Trade Center Marina. From 1995 to 2001, the yacht's gourmet cuisine, private charters and special events drew the city's most famous faces including Donald Trump, Nicholas Cage and Tom Cruise. In 2001, Excalibur became a part of history when it was used to evacuate New Yorkers off the island following the 9/11 attacks.

The 100-foot yacht seats 149 dining guests on the main level, and has a lounge/dance floor on its second level. Lunch, brunch and dinner cruises will be run, offering a menu StarShip President Troy Manthey described as AAA three-diamond rated.

In addition to its dinner cruises, StarShip II will host corporate events, weddings, banquets, conventions, fundraisers, and celebrations of special occasions. For more information, visit www.yachtstarship.com.
