Massage therapist David Lipp, at right, demonstrates the benefits of a chair massage to Josh Foutz at the Clearwater Branch YMCA open house on June 24. Lipp said massage promotes relaxation, stress reduction and relieves muscle tension. It also increases circulation of the blood, increases joint flexibility, reduces back pain, reduces scar tissue and increases lymphatic flow, he explained. Massage therapy is available to both members and non-members. It is one of the many programs offered for adults at the facility located at 1005 South Highland Avenue.
