Making a Difference by Supporting Our TroopsCLEARWATER - Summer campers at Clearwater's Morningside Recreation Complex continue to collect items to send to members of the armed forces stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are asking others to join them in their effort. Collection boxes are set-up in all Clearwater recreation centers and at the Municipal Services Building, 100 S. Myrtle Ave., until August 3. The children, who are entering grades one through five, are working with their camp counselors-in-training to make this effort a success. Toiletries, non-perishable food items in small sizes, travel-size games, and towelettes are among the items they are collecting. Just before camp is over for the summer "Operation Shoebox" will pick up the gifts and ship them to the troops. If you have questions or would like to help, call (727) 507-4065.
