Beach Walk Construction Updateprovided by the City of ClearwaterBeach Walk Construction continues. Westra Construction is almost done with odds and ends that remained of Phase I. Traffic leaving the roundabout and heading south is moving smoothly with two lanes now open for southbound traffic. From Coronado Drive, Fifth Street should be used to access South Gulfview Boulevard. The north end of South Gulfview Boulevard remains closed while the Pier 60 parking lot is open. Occasional lane closures may be necessary for short intervals of time in the construction area. Nelson Construction continues underground utility work between the Barefoot Beach House and the Pier 60 parking lot. The new hiking and biking promenade is taking shape, and the nautilus shell entryway can be seen from the Pier 60 parking lot. Stores and businesses remain open and accessible during construction. The beach is as beautiful ever and welcomes visitors. The next Hard Hat Meeting will be in August. The targeted date for substantially completing the Beach Walk project is before Super Bowl 2009.
