Beach Walk Construction Updateprovided by the City of ClearwaterBusinesses, restaurants and the beach itself are open as Beach Walk construction continues. South Gulfview Boulevard remains closed to all but local traffic. The new Pier 60 parking lot is open and easily accessible from Coronado Drive. Temporary parking lots off Coronado Drive also remain open. A sidewalk on the south side of the new north Gulfview Boulevard access now accommodates walkers. For safety reasons, pedestrians can only access South Clearwater Beach from Pier 60, or from south of the Barefoot Beach House. Those wishing to access businesses on South Gulfview Boulevard can take Coronado Drive to Fifth Street and go west. Some occasional road closures are necessary; remember to slow down when driving in the construction zones. The next Hard Hat Meeting is 9 a.m., August 21 at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, 69 Bay Esplanade.
