Clothes To Kids Receives Grant from the Lighting FoundationClothes to Kids is deeply grateful to the Lightning Foundation, which recently awarded a $5,000 grant for its Back To School Smart Start program. This award will help provide full back-to-school wardrobes to more than 115 children! The Back to School Smart Start program was initiated in May to ensure that Clothes To Kids was well stocked during its busiest time of year, the Back To School season. Through August, it is expected 2,000 children will be served. This program will provide the means for low-income school children to start the school year dressed "smartly", in turn facilitating a "smart" attitude toward learning. The Back To School fair will be held at CTK to kick-off the "back to school" season and distribute clothing to 100 of these children. Founded in 2002, Clothes To Kids, Inc. is a year-round organization that provides new and quality used clothing to low-income school - age children in Pinellas County, free of charge.
