Citizen Police Academy Starts Tuesday, August 28, 2007

CLEARWATER - Are you interested in how your local police department operates? Did you ever wonder why and how police do the things they do? Well here is your chance to find out.

The Clearwater Police Department starts its next Citizen Police Academy on Tuesday nights beginning August 28 and will run through November 13, 2007. It is open to the public and is free. It will be held at the Clearwater Police Department, 645 Pierce St., every Tuesday night from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Attendees will receive a complimentary T-shirt, ball cap, and manual. Each night will cover different topics of law enforcement and policing, including hands-on activities by attendees, a SWAT and K-9 demonstration, and other educational and fun programs.
