
14th Annual Charity Tennis Tournament ~ In Memory of Shannon Morton ~AnnouncedCLEARWATER - The 14th Annual Tennis Tournament, in memory of Shannon Morton, will benefit the animals at the Humane Society of Pinellas. The tournament will be held September 26th through September 30th at the Royal Racquet Club in Clearwater. The kick - off event will be held Wednesday, September 26th,, with the pre-tournament Warm-up Party - dinner provided by Carrabba's Italian Grill. Guests are welcome for $15 per person. Friday, September 28th will be the Junior Fun Night from 6 - 8:30 p.m. for kids ages 4-18. The tournament format is Women's, Men's and Mixed Doubles - Levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Open (5.0 and above). Play will be 2 sets with 3rd set match tiebreaker (10 point) for both main draw and consolation. Finals will be best 2 of 3 sets for both main draw and consolation rounds. There will be a raffle drawing, door prizes, silent auction, goodie bags, awards, tournament T-shirts and tennis towels. Adult play will run from Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th. There will be complimentary refreshments available all days of play. Entry fees are $45 per person for one event and $65 per person for two events. There will be plenty going on to entertain everyone Junior Fun Night.! There will be a tennis carnival featuring a wide variety of tennis racquet and skill games along with other activities with prizes for all participants,. Remember, no tennis experience required! There is no charge for this evening of entertainment that will also be providing a pizza party, but registration is required.
