
Clearwater Audubon Society - Sept. - Oct. Field TripsAll field trips are open to the public and most are free. Van trips involve sharing van rental expenses and require a reservation 3 days before the trip. Overnight trips involve additional costs for lodging and travel and also require reservations. In all cases, a contact is noted who can provide additional details. When the meeting place is Tri-City Shopping Center, assemble outside the Party City store near U.S. 19. When the meeting place is Countryside Shopping Town, assemble outside Sears near U.S. 19. Where there are no restroom facilities at the field trip site, the trip is marked "X". Rest stops will be provided en route. For all trips, please bring binoculars, field guide, drinking water and lunch (when long day trips are scheduled). Wednesday, 9/26/07, 8 a.m. - Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island (conditions and time permitting). Meet behind McDonald's at Alt US 19 & Curlew Rd. to look for wading, shore and water birds along causeway; raptors and songbirds along Honeymoon Island sand trails. Saturday, 10/6/07, 8 a.m. - Moccasin Lake Nature Park. Meet at Moccasin Lake Nature Park to find resident songbirds and raptors in oak and xeric hammock, plus waterbirds.
