Time for a Change?

Have all the kids moved out? Are you planning to downsize to a smaller home? Has your lifestyle changed? Have your property taxes and homeowners insurance premium increased yet again? Or are you just planning to move to a different type of home in the same area? Does condo living now make more sense for you than the upkeep of a single family home?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "yes," then your next step should be to decide if you really want to sell your property at this time.

As a seller, you think your home is the best in the neighborhood or that your condo has had the most beautiful updating in the complex. A buyer, on the other hand won't always agree. To put a realist sale price on your property, you should talk to a Realtor who is familiar with the area you live in. Your Realtor will look at many things to determine a listing price. Some of the things a Realtor will do is research the previous sales in your condo complex or subdivision, explore what updating and/or renovations have been done on your property and decide if there are any features that make your property unique. Your Realtor will be aware of how many properties are on the market and how long they have been for sale.

If you really want to sell your property, you need to make sure your property is priced right. Working with a Realtor is your best bet for setting a realistic price and getting it sold.
