Clearwater, Countryside Swim Teams Make a Splash in PCAC Meet

Clearwater High School swim coach Dave Paul, standing at left, is pictured with several members of the school's swim/dive team at the Pinellas County Athletic Conference championship meet at Southwest Pool in Largo on September 15. Kneeling (front l-r) are Jenny Smith, Jill Sears and Erin Durham-Moore. At back (l-r) are Kelsey Curls, Kacie Peaton, Zach Lain and James Fryer. Clearwater, which was one of 16 high schools taking part in the competition, took third place in the boys division with 270 points. Palm Harbor University High School was first with 456 points. The Countryside Cougars accumulated 354 points for second place. Clearwater's girls finished in fourth place. Taking first, second and third place, respectively, were the girls teams from Palm Harbor University, Countryside and Northeast.

Countryside came in second in both the girls and boys divisions. Other high schools taking part in the competition were Boca Ciega, Clearwater, Dixie Hollins, Dunedin, East Lake, Gibbs, Lakewood, Largo, Northeast, Osceola, Palm Harbor University, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Seminole and Tarpon Springs.
