Clearwater Awards for NeighborhoodsEleven Clearwater neighborhoods vying for $25,000 in grant money through the city's Development and Neighborhood Services Department will receive their awards at a Saturday, Oct. 6 picnic at the Countryside Recreation Center. Mayor Frank Hibbard will announce the winners of the city's first Clearwater Awards for Neighborhoods (CAN) program at the noon event. Prizes will range from $500 to $5,000 and are for things such as beautification, charity and volunteerism, creativity, hurricane/disaster plan, crime watch and communications.
