Pinellas County Fashion Show Auctions Off Chihuahua Puppy

CLEARWATER - The 5th Annual "Fashions with Flair" Fundraiser, a benefit for the children of the Tampa Bay area, was held Saturday, September 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Belleair Country Club. Over 200 attendees enjoyed a silent auction, great food, and a rollicking fashion show featuring local celebrity models.

This year's models for the fashion show included:

Susan Latvala, Pinellas County Commissioner
Cat Coats, wife of Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats
Pat Harney, Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology
Margaret Words-Burnside, publisher of Tampa Bay Magazine
Janet Henderson, former Dunedin City Commissioner
Susan Valdes, Hillsborough County School Board
Lee Hooper, wife of State Representative Ed Hooper
And others

Fashions were provided by La Boutique on Island Estates, MJ's in Dunedin and Ambria's in St. Petersburg. The event featured over 300 items on the silent auction tables with the most exciting item being a purebred female Chihuahua puppy. Jay Coats, son of Pinellas Sheriff Jim Coats, took the cute little puppy home with him. The puppy was donated by Karin Miller, of Karin Miller Flooring, and she has many more such puppies just looking for a good home.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Homeless Emergency Project, the C.L. Kennedy Community Center and Winter Wonderland.
