Certain images haunt our dreams and turn them into nightmares.
Jason. Freddy. A misshapen figure lurking in the shadows.
After this weekend, the University of South Florida Ice Bulls may well join that list of nightmarish images for Florida Atlantic University goalie Brendan Moyle.
USF exploded for 15 goals in two games against the Owls, won both, and improved their record to 3-1.
The Ice Bulls won 5-3 on Friday night in Coral Springs and returned home Saturday to bury FAU 10-4.
Connor Lyons led the Ice Bulls in scoring and was named the Checkers player of the game Saturday night, tallying six goals through the two games.
Ice Bull forward Jeff Borges said the team responded well to the physical tone of the games.
“For all the chippiness, I think we played well and kept our heads.” he said. “We put 10 pucks in the net. We were doing something right.”
The Ice Bulls have a short week ahead. On Wednesday morning, the Bulls will depart from the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport for Iowa where they will participate in the ACHA division III showcase tournament.
About 700 fans attended Saturday’s home game at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon.
USF's next home game will be at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex on Sunday October 14th at 1PM versus Georgia Tech.
