Beach Walk Construction Updateprovided by the City of ClearwaterClearwater Beach welcomes visitors as Beach Walk construction continues. Stores and businesses are open and accessible. South Gulfview Boulevard is closed to all but local traffic, and all on-street parking on that road has been removed. The Pier 60 parking lot and temporary lots off Coronado Drive are in service. Approximately 65 spaces are still available in the South Gulfview parking lot. Temporary lots are also open on East Shore Drive, just north of Causeway Boulevard. Please use extreme caution in all construction zones. Motorists are reminded that the speed limit on Coronado Drive is 20 miles per hour, and pedestrians are reminded to cross streets using the marked crosswalks. A crosswalk from the west side of Coronado Drive at Britt's' property provides access to the beach. The beach is also accessible from Pier 60 and the parking lot there, and from the South Gulfview parking lot, several hundred feet south of Fifth Street. The beachside promenade is open from the lifeguard station near Pier 60, south to the Barefoot Beach House. Nelson Construction continues work with a targeted date for substantially completing the Beach Walk project before Super Bowl 2009.
