Making Your House AccessibleHaving your home on the market involves a certain invasion of privacy. While you want your home to be accessible, you don't want to be stepping out of your shower just as a Realtor is bringing in prospective buyers. In many areas Realtors use a handy tool of the trade called a "lock box" and agents showing the home use the lock box to access the home key. When a property is occupied, the listing office will call to let the owner know the time and date of showing. Sellers should vacate the home when the prospective buyers see the property. It makes the buyers feel more at ease. Some sellers require at least a day's advance notice for a showing. This may eliminate inconvenience for the seller, but it may also eliminate some of the showings. When it is easy to show your home, it is easier for it to sell.
