Frenchy's 23rd Annual Stone Crab Weekend Crawls into TownCLEARWATER BEACH - For the 23rd year, Frenchy's restaurants of Clearwater Beach will host their annual Stone Crab Weekend. Beginning Friday, October 19th through Sunday October 21st, Frenchy's will be serving Fresh Florida Stone Crab claws at three of Frenchy's locations (Frenchy's Original Café, Frenchy's Saltwater Café and Frenchy's Rockaway Grill) at wholesale prices. They will also be offering Yuengling beer for $2 per bottle. The Stone Crab weekend began in 1984 when Frenchy's owner, Michael "Frenchy" Preston decided to offer his signature fresh Stone Crab claws to the general public for just above cost. He included discounted prices for beer and offered one-of-a-kind T-shirts and collectables. Today, visitors from around the world flock to Frenchy's restaurants to enjoy the fresh claws and festive "Beach Party" atmosphere. According to Preston "Stone Crab weekend is the biggest event we have all year. It's amazing how many people come out here to enjoy these fresh stone crab claws with us year after year."
