
The Clearwater Beach Chamber Annual Golf Challenge was a Huge Success!
Tournament Chairman, Bruce Szabo, and Chamber President, Craig West The Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Challenge was hosted by the Belleview Biltmore and everything from the weather to the array of prizes made the day! The course was filled with “special event” tees that included the Belleview Biltmore Spa, delicious hors d’ouvres from Watercolour at Marriott Suites Sand Key, spiked lemonade and refreshing towels from Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort, and neck massages from Antonio’s of the Marriott Suites Sand Key. Players ranged in age from Matthew Szabo, age 8, to Jim O'Neill, age 80, in a field of 19 teams. Although nobody made the hole-in-one needed to win the beautiful new car from Lexus of Clearwater, no one went home empty handed. Winning this year’s low gross bragging rights, with their name to be engraved on the Chamber Trophy was The Shephard’s Beach Resort Team, captained by Paul Andrews. The Red Roof Inn Team, captained by Martin Cole, celebrated winning the low net category.
Individual winners were: Team winners were: Low Gross Award went to Red Roof Inn – Martin Cole, Chris Leyshock, Shawn McGuire and Ric Martin. Low Net Award went to Shephard’s Beach Resort – Paul Andrews, Tommy Schaar, Chris Karanitsos and John Boz Amnesty Award went to Whitney Bank – Craig West, Ken Bray, Adam Curtis and Sam Heller The Super Prize winner was Craig Szabo, who won a 3-day, 2-night stay at the Belleview Biltmore Resort including golf for 4 and dinner for 2 on the StarLite Majesty. Special thanks go out to Golf Committee Chairman Bruce Szabo, co-chair Marysia Coates and their committee members who helped make the tournament a great success.
