Golf Tournament Raises more than $130,000 in Remembrance of the Late, Reverend Otis C. Green, HEP Founder and Visionary

While supporting the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP) by hitting the links at the prestigious Belleair Country Club, October 12th's annual golf tournament helped to raise more than $65,000 for the local charity's supportive services.

Thanks to generous matching from the Eckerd Family Foundation, the organization expects to bring in more than $130,000 in total fundraising for the event.

Local celebrity golfers included reporter Frank Robertson of Fox 13 News and Buc's Alumni Jerry Wunsch, who shared his time thanks to the recruitment efforts of HEP volunteer, Mary Jo Cox. In addition to regularly donating her time at HEP's Clearwater office, Cox was also instrumental in getting all the 50/50 raffle tickets sold, and served as the day's informal photographer. A tournament golfer from Tarpon Springs was the lucky raffle winner.

If you would like to make a difference - HEP is a great way to do so. The organization thrives because of the help of local residents. Contact HEP to find out how your skills and enthusiasm can be matched with a meaningful volunteer experience: (727) 442-9041 or visit www.ethep.org
